Joe Lowry: Raging Lithium Bulls Down Under? Canaccord's Lithium Demand Estimations.

Joe Lowry @globallithium:

Raging bulls down under? Canaccord's demand est. makes the rest of us look like abject pessimists

I am expecting at least 100% jump in the demand for Lithium within next 5 years to 350 kt of LCE by the end of 2020. During the last 5 years  Lithium industry has managed to put only 18 kt/y of LCE production vs 80 kt/y estimated before, according to Joe Lowry. Numerous lithium projects are behind the schedule and ran into the unexpected technical and financial difficulties. We have the total mismatch in the exploding demand and lagging lithium supply. The going exponentially price for lithium in China is telling us this story the best. What will happen if it will not go down? Specifically if the cost of lithium in the end product battery is below 3%. Where all the lithium will be coming from? There is no lithium underneath Tesla's Gigafactory. And Megafactories are coming as well.

"Ganfeng has a strong commitment to supply Lithium product to various industries worldwide,” stated Ganfeng’s Director, Wang Xiaoshen, “so we clearly have a vested interest in these projects and have been very hands-on in the evaluation of ILC’s properties. Our company is the only one in the world that has commercial production capacities to extract Lithium from both brine and spodumene, and we continually implement cutting-edge technologies to our processes. I feel confident that this is a fit for our operations and the potential these projects hold."
