"My belief is TNR's Shotgun Gold Project can potentially grow and become a foremost, immediate satellite site Gold deposit to Donlin Gold's Mining Camp infrastructure. This vision is based on our exploration work and academic studies like the ones from Dr Tim Baker in which Shotgun Gold Project is not only listed alongside Donlin Creek as one of the "Major Porphyry Gold Deposits" but is also projected to contain the similar porphyry intrusion-related type system as Donlin."

"TNR provides significant exposure to gold through its 90% holding in the Shotgun Gold porphyry project in Alaska. The project is located in Southwestern Alaska near the Donlin Gold project, which is being developed by Barrick Gold and Novagold Resources Inc.
Shotgun Gold Project*** inferred resource: 705,960 ounces Au at 1.06 g/t, mineralization appears to be open at depth and along the strike.
The Company’s strategy with Shotgun Gold Project is to attract a joint venture partnership with one of the gold major mining companies. The Company is actively introducing the project to interested parties."

TNR Gold In The Alaskan Elephant Country: "Donlin Gold Drilling Returns 14 Metres At 23.5+ g/t For Partners Barrick, NovaGold"
TNR Gold shareholder NovaGold and their J/V partner Barrick Gold delivered another set of spectacular results from the 2021 drilling campaign. Mining.com reports about the final drill assays from Donlin Gold including 14 m grading 23.5 g/t Gold.
"The final drill assays for 2021 continue to return high grades from the Donlin gold project 450 km northwest of Anchorage, Alaska. Five of the best intervals were:
- Hole DC21-2017: 19 metres grading 18.23 g/t gold, including 14.3 metres grading 23.49 g/t;
- Hole DC21-1994: 77.6 metres grading 3.51 g/t gold, including 7.9 metres at 12.39 g/t;
- Hole DC-21-2015: 43 metres grading 5.04 g/t gold, including 6 metres at 11.81 g/t;
- Hole DC21-2019: 28.2 metres grading 4.4 g/t gold; and
- Hole DC21-1998: 45.8 metres grading 3.04 g/t gold.
The operating company, Donlin Gold LLC, is an equal partnership of Barrick Gold (TSX: ABX; NYSE: GOLD) and NovaGold Resources (TSX: NG; NYSE: NG). This marks the end of last year’s 79-hole, 24,264 program that produced multiple high-grade intercepts.
The positive results of the recent program have set the foundation for the largest budget at Donlin in more than a decade. Plans call for spending $60 million this year. The geological model and interpretation work is designed to prepare an updated feasibility study. About 34,000 metres will be drilled in and below the proposed pit as well as fieldwork and permitting for the Alaska dam safety certifications, environmental studies, and external affairs efforts." "Goldman Sachs telling investors to buy Gold". And there is a "whale" circling around under the surface of the financial waters and scooping all Gold that falls from the shaken weak hands below $1,800. Nobody knows the future or when exactly Gold will hit its next target of $3,200, as Alasdair Macleod calls it now. For us, at TNR Gold, it is important to have as much Gold as we can find by that time.
"But Donlin takes things to another level again.
With its 39mln ounces of gold grading well over two grams per tonne, it’s one of the largest open pit deposits anywhere in the world.
Not surprising then that one of the biggest names in the industry, Barrick Gold (TSE:ABX), is playing a crucial role in bringing it on, alongside partner NovaGold (TSE:NG).
Will these two stay as partners for the duration, or will Barrick step in and buy out NovaGold?
Or, for that matter, will a third party, like Newmont, show up late at the party and try to initiate some sort of division of the spoils with Barrick along the lines of the current hard-won arrangement in Nevada?
These are matters for speculation just at the minute, but it might not be long before we see tangible corporate action.
And it’s not altogether out of the question that Shotgun will get caught up in it too.
After all, TNR has plenty of form in forming strong alliances with the world’s leading mining companies." (Alastair Ford)
TNR Gold shareholder NOVAGOLD and their JV partner Barrick Gold are preparing "the biggest drilling program in a decade" at Donlin Gold. JV Partners are starting a "$60 million 2022 drilling program with two rigs and work will eventually ramp up to five or six active rigs by midsummer".
Hopefully, giant Donlin Gold will grow even more. We are talking here about the major Gold Mining Camp on US soil in the making. On the links below you can find more information about TNR Gold, our Shotgun Gold Project and our shareholder NOVAGOLD for your own research. Stay safe and prosper.
Donlin Gold starts biggest drilling program in a decade
"The leaders of Donlin Gold aren’t waiting for spring to get started on the largest drilling program in a decade at the world-scale Western Alaska gold prospect.
A warm-up crew worked to clear the camp for about two weeks before drilling started Jan. 30, Donlin Gold spokeswoman Kristina Woolston said. The conditions slowed the work some, she added.
“Clearly, weather has been a factor. It was 35 below at camp the other day. It’s been a cold start to winter,” Woolston said.
Donlin is starting its $60 million 2022 drilling program with two rigs and work will eventually ramp up to five or six active rigs by midsummer, according to Woolston. The roughly 34,000 meters of largely infill and geotechnical drilling planned for this year would be about 40% more work than was done last year.
A 50-50 joint venture between Vancouver-based NovaGold and Toronto-based mining giant Barrick Gold Corp., Donlin’s large drilling program will inform an updated feasibility study as Barrick and NovaGold continue toward a final investment decision on the $6.7 billion open-pit mine.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approved the project’s environmental impact statement in 2018, though several other approvals are still needed, including the key state dam safety permit..." (Anchorage Daily News)

We extend our congratulations today to TNR Gold shareholder NovaGold and their Donlin Gold JV partner, Barrick Gold. Donlin Gold has produced another set of spectacular results and Kitco is reporting that "Barrick Gold "reaffirmed its confidence" in Donlin Gold Project":
"Barrick President and Chief Executive Mark Bristow said, “Getting together in Alaska, visiting the Donlin project site and sitting down with stakeholders drove home the significance and importance of Donlin to both partners. We have a unique opportunity to progress a world-class project in both a jurisdiction and with local partners that recognize the contribution such an asset can bring to the lives of future generations of Alaskans. Our priority is to do that responsibly and sustainably and it is an illustration of Barrick’s and NOVAGOLD’s strong partnership that we were able to have such a productive workshop and come away with next steps to move the project forward.” (NovaGold NR December 1, 2021)
It is important to note that the QP of TNR Gold, as it is defined by NI 43-101, has not verified independently any results reported by NovaGold - you should study all results in their entirety including technical disclaimers on the NovaGold website and consult your qualified financial advisor before any investment decision. But what we can discuss here are the grades reported by Barrick Gold and NovaGold and the depth of those intersections:
"Now you can better understand my personal excitement finding these additional confirmations to my belief that the Shotgun Ridge system has all geological indications pointing to the potential to grow further. It is important to mention here that TNR' Shotgun Gold Project is a Porphyry Gold system as well, with a similar geo signature as Donlin Gold."
"Shotgun Gold is a multiphase intrusion-related system associated with 69.7 Ma magmatism, tying Shotgun Gold to a widespread magmatic Gold mineralising event including the 70 Ma Donlin Gold project. Mineralisation and magmatism at Shotgun Gold resemble Donlin Gold and other deposits in the area where regional structures focus the first order emplacement of magmas, and local structures control mineralisation at the deposit scale."
