Green Technology Energy Metals In Canada: International Lithium Mavis Lake Presentation.

With GM Bolt and Faraday Future unveiled at CES 2016 and Tesla Model 3 coming in March, Lithium Technology is in the headlines these days and getting finally on the investor's radar screens. Today I would like to present International Lithium's  Mavis Lake Lithium and Tantalum project in Canada. Our J/V projects with Ganfeng Lithium: Avalonia in Ireland and Mariana in Argentina are better known: we are advancing another $4 million exploration programs on these projects now. Mavis Lake presents another very important opportunity for development of potential source of conflict free strategic commodities in politically stable Canada. We are talking here about the security of Lithium Supply for the West now. With our J/Vs with Ganfeng Lithium solidly on track for the development, we are concentrating now on the Strategic Partnership to build the Next Lithium Producer in North America.

"I am glad that Apple looks like not to be involved in this project and we still can hope that it will reach 1 Trillion Market Cap with its own electric car catering mobility powered by lithium technology with bottled electricity to the masses. The real game changer is coming this year with Tesla Model 3, GM Bolt, BYD and Tesla Gigafactory with Megafactories to follow."

InsideEVs:

"BYD plug-in electric car sales relaxed after the year-end rush, but year-over-year still moving up pretty fast.
The total volume of Tang, Qin, e5 and e6 sales in China amounted to 5,471 in January – up 134% compared to January 2014.
  • Tang – 4012
  • Qin 517
  • e5 – 256
  • e6 – 686
Inside the numbers, it is pretty interesting that the BYD Qin sales slide to just 517, a level not seen since launch. Even the pure-electric e6 fared better – a rare occurrence.
It seems that the main forces of growth is focused now on the plug-in hybrid SUV Tang."

International Lithium Begins Brine Evaporation Process Studies on the Mariana Project, Argentina

Vancouver, B.C. 19 January 2016, International Lithium Corp. (the “Company” or “ILC”) (TSX VENTURE:ILC.V)is pleased to announce that together with strategic partner Ganfeng Lithium Co. Ltd., (“GFL”) the 2016 exploration and development work on the Mariana joint venture project has begun.

As previously announced on December 10, 2015 the companies have allocated a budget of approximately US $3,190,000 dedicated to the Mariana Lithium project in Argentina. The first phase of this budget includes conducting bench scale evaporation tests at the Universidad Técnica de Oruro (“UTO”) in Bolivia.

The company has contracted Door To Design, Inc. to oversee the test work conducted at UTO. The goal of the tests is to study the evaporation path of lithium-potassium-boron brine from Salar de Llullaillaco where the Mariana joint venture owns 100% of the mineral rights. Door to Design staff have significant previous experience with similar projects in Argentina and Chile.
Understanding the natural evaporation path and how to effectively control it is paramount in the development of a process to 1) selectively precipitate key potassium and boron ore minerals and 2) remove impurities, leaving a by-product of lithium concentrate brine that can be further processed to produce other lithium products.

Universidad Técnica de Oruro was chosen for these tests because it is located in the Altiplano plateau, which is the Bolivian extension of the Puna in northwestern Argentina where Salar de Llullaillaco is located. Salar de Llullaillaco is approximately 3,800 metres and UTO 3,600 metres above sea level, resulting in the testing laboratory having similar weather and atmospheric conditions to the project area. Similar conditions are important to maximize the predictive ability of the study results. Evaporation bench tests are anticipated to take approximately five months.

Mr. Kirill Klip, President, International Lithium Corp. comments, “We are very pleased to be starting the first stage of our 2016 program with Ganfeng at Salar de Llullaillaco. The results of this work will prepare us for larger scale field tests at the salar.
The newly elected government in Argentina is taking several steps that will improve operating conditions for mining companies. These steps are opening a new chapter in Argentina’s economic development and ILC is very proud to be part of this 21st century international cooperation!”

InsideEVs:

SolarCity, one of three companies directly related to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, set a fourth quarter record of 272 MW of installed solar power capacity (up 54% year-over-year), reaching 1,900 MW total (870 MW in 2015 – 73% up compared to 2014).
First quarter of 2016 is now expected at some 180 MW and 1,250 MW total in 2016.
At the same time, total average cost per watt decreased to $2.71per watt (5% year-over-year).
SolarCity is now also not only installer of solar system, but also become manufacturer of cell-modules with efficiency of 20%:
“Following the grand opening of our Fab2 in November 2015, our first operational 100-MW cell-module manufacturing line is up and running, producing modules with average efficiencies exceeding 20% today and expected to surpass 21% by the end of the year. In addition, we continue to innovate in our Zep mounting hardware with our latest technological development reducing part count from 8 to 3 and enabling the installation of 16 modules (~4 kW) in 20 minutes, all while reducing risk of roof damage. We expect even greater innovation in the years ahead. “
We are not focusing on SolarCity financial results as their business model is pretty overwhelming, but it seem that like many other companies, SolarCity was hit hard on the NASDAQ, moving down below $20 per share, to the point from over two years ago.

Diamond drill holes were oriented perpendicular to the surface trace of the Central Band of pegmatite. The Central Band has a number of lithium-bearing outcrops that were the focus of historical drill programs and currently forms the primary target for the Company's recent drilling. It is now evident that the Central Band of pegmatites has a thick, shallow dipping, spodumene-bearing core zone centred on pegmatite #4.

Laboratory work was conducted by Activation Laboratories Ltd of Ancaster, Ontario with the samples being submitted by Company staff to their Dryden prep facilities. Activation Laboratories is an accredited laboratory with ISO 17025:2005 and CAN-P-1579 certification. Analysis was conducted using a sodium peroxide fusion followed by ICP-MS. The Company uses industry recognized practices to ensure quality control. To support this, a number of large samples were collected from surface sites known to have significant lithium and tantalum values. Following preliminary analysis a blend of these samples is being used to develop a certified reference material matrix matched to the Companies pegmatite projects. The new reference material has been inserted into the sample stream at the Property and will be utilized on other Company projects.

The Mavis - Fairservice Property Area
The property is located 15 km Northeast of Dryden, Ontario and is easily accessed via the Trans-Canada Highway and a series of logging roads. The claim blocks comprise a total of 2,624 hectares and straddle a continuous pegmatite field exhibiting high-grade, well-evolved, lithium and tantalum zonation as well as significant levels of cesium and rubidium. Regional pegmatite mineralization is directly associated with the strongly peraluminous Ghost Lake Pluton and related pegmatitic granite dykes. Rare metal mineralization in the Mavis Lake area occurs in zoned pegmatites hosted by mafic metavolcanic rocks. Rare metal mineralization occurs in four zones: internal beryl zone within the parent of the Ghost Lake pluton that evolves to the east within the Fairservice and Mavis Lake claim blocks into external zones of beryl-columbite, spodumene-beryl-tantalite and albite-type pegmatites.
